01 |
Arrive In
Kunming
Arrive in Kunming,
our guide will meet you at the
airport, visit the Western Hills
by the Dianchi Lake and the
Daguan Park.
Western Hills: Located 15km
west of Kunming, Western Hills
is a range of four mountains
stretching over 40 kilometers
along the western shore of the
Dianchi Lake, looking like
a Sleeping Beauty with long
tresses trailing away to the
south. Totally cut on a natural
precipice, Dragon Gate is the
highlight of Western Hills.
Many inscriptions and steles
are found here and there in
Dragon Gate.
Daguan Park: First built
in 1682 by a monk, is known
for its longest antithetical
couplet in China.

02 |
Kunming
- Stone Forest - Dali /
(Breakfast,
Lunch)
After breakfast, drive 1.5 hours
(90 KM) to visit the Stone Forest.
Back to Kunming in the afternoon
and visit the Golden Temple. Take
flight to Dali.
Stone Forest: A massive collection
of grey limestone pillars, split
by rain water and eroded to their
present fanciful forms.
Golden
Temple: Originally built in
1604 during the Ming dynasty.
Built in 1890 with 250 tons of
solid bronze, the present temple,
6.7 meters in height and 7.8 meters
in width, is reputed as the largest
bronze hall in China. |

Dali /
(Breakfast,
Lunch)
Take a cruise in the Erhai Lake
then visit the Three pagodas.
In the afternoon, we will visit
the Dali Ancient City.
Erhai Lake: A fresh water
lake in the Yunnan Plateau at
an elevation of 1972 metres,
with a length of 42 km and width
of 8 km.
Three pagodas: The Three
Pagodas are representation of
the ancient architectural and
cultural arts of the Bai nationality,
erected during the Wudai Period
(907-979 A.D.) of the Dali Kingdom.
Dali
Ancient City: A famous Chinese
historical and cultural city
and a national scenic zone.
A rich heritage dates back to
the days when the city was the
capital of the kingdoms of Nanzhao
and Dali.

Dali
- Lijiang /
(Breakfast, Lunch)
Drive to Lijiang. Visit the Black
Dragon Pool in the Heilongtan
Park and Lijiang Ancient Town.
Heilongtan
Park: Inside the park, many
ancient architectures of the Naxi
people scatter amidst the lush
trees, adding unique view to this
park.
Lijiang
Ancient Town: It is situated
on a plateau at an elevation of
2,600m and is impressive because
of its scenery and lush vegetation.
There is no other town in China
like Lijiang which incorporates
the folkways of so many people
and the architectural styles of
both north and south China. |

Tour to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.
Visit villages of Naxi people,
the Lijiang Murals, the 600 year
old Ten Thousand Blossom Camellia
Tree at the Yufeng Lama Temple.
Enjoy the
Naxi Ancient Music this evening.
Jade
Dragon Snow Mountain: A
holy mountain for the Naxi people
that is located 15km north of
Lijiang city with an altitude
of 5600 meters (18,400 feet)
above sea level. Visit villages
of Naxi people.
Lijiang
Murals: Made in succession
from the early Ming dynasty
to the reign of Emperor Qianlong
in the Qing dynasty. These mural
paintings, with their fine and
smooth lines, bright colors,
vivid pattern and balanced and
harmonious composition are a
wonderful sight.

Lijiang
- Shangri-La / (Breakfast,
Lunch)
Drive 180Km to
Shangri-la. On the way, visit
the Tiger Leaping Gorge and the
First bend of the Yangtze River.
Tiger
Leaping Gorge: One of the
longest, deepest and narrowest
gorges in the world.
First
bend of the Yangtze River:
The upper reaches of the Yangtze
River is named the Jinsha River,
which originates from the Qinghai-Tibet
Plateau. The Jinsha River flowed
southward along the Hengduan
Mountain ranges and was forced
to the turn to north because
of the Alpine movements which
caused changes in the earth's
physiognomy. When the river
reaches Shigu Township, it makes
an abrupt turn and flows further
northward, forming the rare
V-shape bend.

Shangri-La
/ (Breakfast,
Lunch)
Visit the Songzanlin Lama Temple,
the Pudacuo Scenic region (including
Shudu Lake, Bita Lake resort and
Xiaji Resort.), and a Tibetan
family near Napahai Reserve. (B+L)
Songzanlin
Lama Temple: A typical Lama
monastery. Located at the foot
of Mt. Foping, four kilometers
north of Zhongdian County, a
monastery was first built here
in 1679 and has been rebuilt
many times.
Bitahai
Lake: A fault lake, is an
intact natural attraction with
various species of flora and
fauna and, of course, picturesque
landscapes.
Shudu
Lake: The lake is known
for its clear water, and the
peaceful environment of the
area around here. The lake abounds
in unique species of fish, with
double lips and a golden color.

Shangri-La
- Kunming - Departure /
(Breakfast, Lunch)
Take flight back to Kunming. Visit
the Qiongzhu Temple. Transfer
to the airport and see you off.
Qiongzhu Temple: The first
temple built after Zen Buddhist
had been introduced to Yunnan
early in 1279. |
