1. Tour Itinerary

Day 01 Arrive In Kunming

Day 02 Kunming - Stone Forest - Dali (Breakfast, Lunch)
After breakfast, drive 1.5 hours (90 KM) to visit the Stone Forest. Drive back to Kunming in the afternoon and take flight to Dali.

Stone Forest: The 26,000-hectare Stone Forest is located in Lu'nan Yi Nationality Autonomous County, about 120 kilometers southwest of Kunming. The area is believed to have been originally under the ocean. With eons of movement of the earth crust the area rose and broke through. The limestone left behind went through sun, rain, wind, and earthquakes and finally developed into the beautiful stone forest we see today.
Day 03

Dali (Breakfast, Lunch)
Take a cruise in the Erhai Lake then visit the Three pagodas. In the afternoon, we will visit the Dali Ancient City.

Erhai Lake: A fresh water lake in the Yunnan Plateau at an elevation of 1972 metres, with a length of 42 km and width of 8 km.
Three pagodas:
The Three Pagodas are representation of the ancient architectural and cultural arts of the Bai nationality, erected during the Wudai Period (907-979 A.D.) of the Dali Kingdom.
Dali Ancient City: A famous Chinese historical and cultural city and a national scenic zone. A rich heritage dates back to the days when the city was the capital of the kingdoms of Nanzhao and Dali.

Day 04 Dali - Lijiang (Breakfast, Lunch)
Drive 3 hours to Lijiang. Explore Lijiang Ancient Town.

Lijiang Ancient Town: It is situated on a plateau at an elevation of 2,600m and is impressive because of its scenery and lush vegetation. There is no other town in China like Lijiang which incorporates the folkways of so many people and the architectural styles of both north and south China.
Day 05 Lijiang (Breakfast, Lunch)
Tour to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Visit Lijiang Murals and Shuhe Village of Naxi people.

Jade Dragon Snow Mountain: A holy mountain for the Naxi people that is located 15km north of Lijiang city with an altitude of 5600 meters (18,400 feet) above sea level. Visit villages of Naxi people.
Lijiang Murals: Made in succession from the early Ming dynasty to the reign of Emperor Qianlong in the Qing dynasty. These mural paintings, with their fine and smooth lines, bright colors, vivid pattern and balanced and harmonious composition are a wonderful sight.

Day 06 Lijiang - Shangri-La (Breakfast, Lunch)
Drive 180Km to Shangri-la. On the way, visit the Tiger Leaping Gorge and the First bend of the Yangtze River.

Tiger Leaping Gorge: One of the longest, deepest and narrowest gorges in the world.
First bend of the Yangtze River: The upper reaches of the Yangtze River is named the Jinsha River, which originates from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The Jinsha River flowed southward along the Hengduan Mountain ranges and was forced to the turn to north because of the Alpine movements which caused changes in the earth's physiognomy. When the river reaches Shigu Township, it makes an abrupt turn and flows further northward, forming the rare V-shape bend.

Day 07 Shangri-La (Breakfast, Lunch)
Visit the Songzanlin Lama Temple and the Pudacuo Scenic Region (including Shudu Lake, Bita Lake Resort and Xiaji Resort.).

Songzanlin Lama Temple: A typical Lama monastery. Located at the foot of Mt. Foping, four kilometers north of Zhongdian County, a monastery was first built here in 1679 and has been rebuilt many times.
Bitahai Lake: A fault lake, is an intact natural attraction with various species of flora and fauna and, of course, picturesque landscapes.
Shudu Lake: The lake is known for its clear water, and the peaceful environment of the area around here. The lake abounds in unique species of fish, with double lips and a golden color.

Day 08 Shangri-La - Kunming - Departure (Breakfast, Lunch)
Take morning flight back to Kunming. Tour to the Qiongzhu Temple or Golden Temple, another option is visiting the Dragon gate in Western Hills by the Dianchi Lake. Transfer to the airport and see you off.

Qiongzhu Temple: Situated 12 kilometers from the Kunming downtown area, it is a Buddhist temple established during the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) as the first temple dedicated to Zen Buddhism. The temple is most renowned for the painted clay sculptures of the 500 Buddhist arhats. The quiet temple is surrounded by verdant woods and green bamboos affording crisp and cool air.
Golden Temple: Originally built in 1602, it is the largest copper temple in China. The temple has been a well-known Taoist temple in Yunnan since Ming dynasty (1368-1644). Since the temple is made of bronze, which glitters like gold under the sun, it is named as "Golden Temple".
Western Hills: Located at the west bank of the Dianchi Lake, the Western Hills stretches from north to south for about 40 km. It has an excellent environment with lush vegetation, flourishing flowers and tranquil surroundings. The Dragon Gate is a group of grottoes carved into cliffs by Taoist monks between 1781 and 1835.
