1. Tour Itinerary

Day 01 Arrival
On arrival at Beijing airport or railway station, you will be met by our guide and transferred to your hotel. The rest of day is at leisure or explore the nightlife of Beijing on your own.
Day 02 Beijing (Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner)
In the morning, visit Tiananmen Square and then explore the Forbidden City which was the Imperial Palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties. This afternoon we will discover the exquisite Summer Palace. Enjoy the Beijing Duck Dinner.
Optional program in the evening: Peking Opera, or Kungfu Show or Chinese Acrobatics.


Tiananmen Square: Situated in the heart of Beijing, the square stretches 880 meters from north to south and 500 meters from east to west. Tian'anmen is the entrance gate to the Forbidden City and was built in 1417. On October 1, 1949, Mao Zedong, proclaimed the founding of the People's Republic of China on the Tian'anmen Gate Tower.
Forbidden City: For almost 500 years, this imperial palace served as the home of 24 Emperors and the ceremonial and political center of the Chinese imperial government. The construction of the Forbidden City took 14 years and was finished in 1420. UNESCO listed it as a World Cultural Heritage Site in 1987.
Summer Palace: The largest, most beautiful and exquisite imperial garden in China. Mainly dominated by Kunming Lake and Longevity Hill, the Summer Palace covers an area of 2.9 square kilometers. There are more than 100 traditional architecture in the park; they include pagodas, temples, pavilions, waterside gazebos, halls, palaces, marble boat and stone bridges.
Beijing Duck Dinner: Beijing Roasted Duck is renowned as the most delicious food of Beijing. The duck is hung in the oven and roasted by flame burning from fruit-wood. The finished duck is characteristic with crispy skin, tender meat and the fragrance from the fruit-wood.
Peking Opera: Beijing Opera is deemed the national opera of China. The accompanying music, singing and costumes are full of Chinese cultural facts.
Day 03 Beijing (Breakfast + Lunch)
Take an excursion to the Mutianyu Great Wall, escape from the crowds and enjoy a leisure walk on the wall. After lunch, visit the Ming Tombs.

Mutianyu Great Wall: With has a history of more than 2,300 years, the Great Wall is one of the most extensive construction projects ever completed. Stretching 21,196 kilometers, this ancient defensive architecture winds up and down across mountains, deserts, grasslands and plateaus. The best-known and best-preserved section of the Great Wall was built in the 14-17th centuries A.D.. Mutianyu section is famous for its breath-taking scenery and is less crowded than the Badaling section.
Ming Tombs: The majestic mausoleums of 13 emperors of the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644). Ming Tombs offers insight into imperial Ming Dynasty life, including stone thrones, tablet archway, Stone Figures, animal sculptures, ornamental columns and other evidence of Chinese culture and traditions. At present, only the Spirit Way, Dingling Tomb, Changling Tomb and Zhaoling Tomb are open for viewing.
Day 04 Beijing - Kunming (Breakfast + Lunch)
In the morning, take a visit to the Temple of Heaven. After lunch, transfer to the airport for flight to Kunming.

Temple of Heaven: A complex of Taoist buildings built in 1420 during the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644). It is the place where the emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties made sacrifices to Heaven and prayed for good harvest.
Day 05 Kunming - Stone Forest - Kunming (Breakfast + Lunch)
After breakfast, drive 1.5 hours (90 KM) to visit the Stone Forest. Return to Kunming in the afternoon.

Stone Forest: A massive collection of grey limestone pillars, split by rain water and eroded to their present fanciful forms.
Day 06 Kunming - Lijiang (Breakfast + Lunch)
Take morning flight to Lijiang. Explore Lijiang Ancient Town.

Lijiang Ancient Town: It is situated on a plateau at an elevation of 2,600m and is impressive because of its scenery and lush vegetation. There is no other town in China like Lijiang which incorporates the folkways of so many people and the architectural styles of both north and south China.
Day 07 Lijiang (Breakfast + Lunch)
Tour to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, Lijiang Murals and Ancient Shuhe Village of Naxi people.

Jade Dragon Snow Mountain: A holy mountain for the Naxi people that is located 15km north of Lijiang city with an altitude of 5600 meters (18,400 feet) above sea level. Visit villages of Naxi people.
Lijiang Murals: Made in succession from the early Ming dynasty to the reign of Emperor Qianlong in the Qing dynasty. These mural paintings, with their fine and smooth lines, bright colors, vivid pattern and balanced and harmonious composition are a wonderful sight.

Day 08 Lijiang - Shangri-La (Breakfast, Lunch)
Drive 180Km to Shangri-la. On the way, visit the Tiger Leaping Gorge and the First bend of the Yangtze River.

Tiger Leaping Gorge: One of the longest, deepest and narrowest gorges in the world.
First bend of the Yangtze River: The upper reaches of the Yangtze River is named the Jinsha River, which originates from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The Jinsha River flowed southward along the Hengduan Mountain ranges and was forced to the turn to north because of the Alpine movements which caused changes in the earth's physiognomy. When the river reaches Shigu Township, it makes an abrupt turn and flows further northward, forming the rare V-shape bend.

Day 09 Shangri-La (Breakfast, Lunch)
Visit the Songzanlin Lama Temple and the Pudacuo Scenic Region (including Shudu Lake, Bita Lake Resort and Xiaji Resort.).

Songzanlin Lama Temple: A typical Lama monastery. Located at the foot of Mt. Foping, four kilometers north of Zhongdian County, a monastery was first built here in 1679 and has been rebuilt many times.
Bitahai Lake: A fault lake, is an intact natural attraction with various species of flora and fauna and, of course, picturesque landscapes.
Shudu Lake: The lake is known for its clear water, and the peaceful environment of the area around here. The lake abounds in unique species of fish, with double lips and a golden color.

Day 10 Shangri-La - Lhasa (Breakfast, Lunch)
Take flight to Lhasa. Arrive in Lhasa, you will be met by our guide and transferred to your Hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to adapt to the high altitude.

Lhasa (Breakfast + Lunch)
Tour to the Potala Palace, the Sera Monastery, the Norbulingka and visit a Tibetan family.

Potala Palace: The chief residence and winter palace of the Dalai Lama since the 7th century. This immense religious and administrative complex is situated atop the Red Mountain, 130 meters above the Lhasa River valley. Potala Palace is 3,700 meters above sea level and covers an area of over 360,000 square meters; its 13 stories of buildings have more than 1,000 rooms, 10,000 shrines and about 200,000 statues.

Sera Monastery: Founded in 1419, it is one of three famous monasteries in Tibet. As a complex of structures with the Great Assembly Hall and three colleges, Sera is the representative monastery of the Gelugpa of the Tibetan Buddhism, sometime in the history it housed about 6000 monks from all over Tibet.
Norbulingka: The traditional summer residence of the successive Dalai Lamas from the 1780s until the late 1950s. Norbulingka means "treasure park" in the Tibetan, it measures about 430,000 square yards, with 374 rooms inside. As a unique representation of Tibetan palace architecture, Norbulingka is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001.

Day 12 Lhasa (Breakfast + Lunch)
Tour to the Jokhang Temple, the Drepung Monastery, the Tibet Museum and visit the Barkhor Street.

Jokhang Temple: The most sacred and important temple in Tibet. Built in 647 during the reign of King Songtsen Gampo, it has a history of more than 1,300 years. The temple was built for the king's bride Princess Wencheng of the Chinese Tang Dynasty, to house the Buddhist statues and images she has brought to Tibet.
Drepung Monastery: Established in 1416, it is one of the Three Great Monasteries in Tibet. Covering an area of 250,000 square meters, Drepung Monastery is known as the biggest monastery in the world with many cultural relics. At its peak, more than 10,000 people lived in the monastery.
Tibet Museum: Covering an area of 54,000 square meters, it is the first modern museum in Tibet with a rich collection of cultural relics including Buddha statues, Tibetan scriptures, jade seals, gold albums, tangkas and folk arts.

Barkhor Street: Encircling Jokhang Temple, it is a famous commercial center in Lhasa. Barkhor Street has a history of more than 1300 years, visitors can find all kinds of fantastic commodities here: bronze Buddhist statues, prayer beads, carpets, thangkas, joss sticks, prayer wheels.
Day 13 Lhasa - Shanghai (Breakfast + Lunch)
Take flight to Shanghai and transfer to hotel. Visit the Yuyuan Garden, Shanghai Old Street and former French Concession. Have a stroll over the Bund. Optional program in the evening: the Portman Acrobatic Show or Huangpu River cruise.

Yuyuan Garden: As the most famous classical garden in Shanghai, Yuyuan is located to the northeast of the old town, not far from The Bund. It was built from 1559 to 1577 during the Ming Dynasty. Each pavilion, hall, stone and stream in the garden is expressing the quintessence of South China landscape design from Ming and Qing Dynasty.
Former French Concession: It is once designated for the French from 1849 to 1946, consisting of today's Luwan and Xuhui Districts. Interesting architecture built with French and Belgian venture investments and showing mixed Chinese-European styles. Today, the area is characterized by quiet, tree-lined avenues, French-style villas, interesting boutiques, lively bars and quaint cafes that are not typical of China.
The Bund: As the architectural symbol of Shanghai, the Bund is on the west bank of Huangpu River and winds one kilometer. The name "the Bund" is derived from an Anglo-Indian term meaning literally "muddy embankment". To the west of the Bund, there are 52 magnificent buildings standing in different styles: Rome, Baroque, Gothic, Renaissance, Classic and the combination of Eastern and Western style, most of them were erected before 1937.
Huang Pu River: A tributary of the Yangtze and there is plenty of traffic on it to prove its importance. You'll see the magnificent building skylines on both the historic west side (the Bund), and the modern east side (Pudong) as well as the working area of coal boats filling barges and sending them downriver. It's fun to see such lively river life as well as Shanghai's amazing skyline.
