- Foshan - Guangzhou (Lunch)
Our guide will meet you from your
Guangzhou hotel in the morning
and drive to Foshan City. Visit
Foshan Ancestral Temple, the Ancient
Nanfeng Kiln and the Foshan Folk
Art Research Institute. Drive
back to Guangzhou and transfer
to your hotel.
Foshan Ancestral Temple:
First built in the period 1078
to 1085, is one of the famous
ancient buildings in Guandong
Province with a history of more
than 900 years. Originally it
was called the Ancestor's Hall,
for worshipping the ancestors
by workers of the smelting trade.
Ancient Nanfeng Kiln:
Ancient Nanfeng Kiln, founded
during Zhengde period of Ming
Dynasty (1506-1521), is a surviving
furnace over 400 years, which
is certainly uncommon in China
for its sticking to burning pottery
up to now. It's therefore listed
as Guangdong's key protection
unit of historical and cultural
relics.
Foshan Folk Art Research
Institute: Founded in 1956,
traditional folk arts can be inherited
and developed there. People from
home and abroad have made high
appraisal of its artistic accomplishments.
