1. Tour Itinerary

Day 01 Arrival in Beijing
Upon your arrival in Beijing, our English-speaking tour guide will meet you at the airport or railway station. After claiming your luggage, you will easily find our guide holding a welcome sign with your name on it. Transfer to your hotel. Afternoon at leisure to overcome jetlag.
Day 02 Beijing (Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner)
Visit Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City (the Imperial Palace) and the Summer Palace. Enjoy the Beijing Duck Dinner and the Peking Opera in the evening.

Tiananmen Square: Tian'anmen Square, the largest square in the world, encompasses 440,000 square metres, about the size of 60 soccer fields, 880 metres from north to south and 500 metres from east to west, big enough to hold half a million people.
Forbidden City: The Forbidden City China is a symbol of oriental culture, Established on the basis of the Imperial PaLace of the Ming and Qing dynasties. One cannot be counted as having visited China if he or she has never visited the Forbidden City of China.
Summer Palace: The Summer Palace is a monument to classical Chinese architecture, in terms of both garden design and construction. Incorporating scenes from surrounding landscapes, it radiates not only the grandeur of an imperial garden but also the beauty of nature shown by Chinese architectural style.
Beijing Duck Dinner: Beijing Roasted duck is renowned as the most delicious food of Beijing.
Peking Opera: Beijing Opera is deemed the national opera of China. The accompanying music, singing and costumes are full of Chinese cultural facts.
Day 03 Beijing (Breakfast + Lunch)
Take an excursion to the Great Wall and the Ming Tombs. See the appearance of the Bird's Nest (Olympic National Stadium) at a distance.

Great Wall Of China: One of the seven wonders in the world and the symble of China. The Great Wall extends to more than 5,000 kilometers.
Ming Tombs: Some 50 kilometers northwest of the downtown Beijing, the Ming Tombs are generally combined with a visit to the Great Wall. Otherwise known as the "13 Tombs", this is the burial site of 13 out of 17 emperors of the Ming Dynasty.
Day 04 Beijing - Hohhot (Breakfast + Lunch)
Visit the Temple of Heaven this morning. After lunch, transfer to the airport for flight to Hohhot.

Temple of Heaven: Situadet in the South-Eastern part of Beijing, the Temple of Heaven is the largest still existing sacrificial temple in China. It was used as the site for imperial sacrifices during the Ming and Qing dynasties. It was here that the emperor conducted the elaborate and most exalted sacrifices addressed to "the Supreme Ruler of the Universe" to ask for the heavens blessings and good harvest.
Day 05 Hohhot - Gegentala Grassland (Breakfast + Lunch)
Drive to the Gegentala Grassland. Gegentala means "a place for spending summer" in Mongolian, enjoy the beautiful scenery of the grassland. Visit the herdsmen's tent and enjoy the Singing and Dances of Mongolian people.
Stay tonight in the tent of Mongolian people.
Day 06 Gegentala Grassland - Hohhot (Breakfast + Lunch)
Drive back to Hohhot in the morning. Visit the Tomb of Wang Zhaojun, the Five Pagoda Temple and the Dazhao Temple.

Tomb of Wang Zhaojun: Wang Zhaojun was a maid of honor in an imperial palace of the Han Dynasty. In 33 B.C. Huhanxie Chanyu, chief of the Xiongnus, proposed ties of amity with the Han court through marriage. When Zhaojun married Huhanxie, she brought with her the rich culture of the Central China Plain to the Xiongnu people in the north.
Five Pagoda Temple: The Pagoda is 16.5 meters high and looks like a Buddha's Warrior Attendant's seat, with a base under it and five exquisite pagodas on the base. As more than 1560 relief sculptures of Buddhas are engraved on the five pagodas, the temple enjoys the reputation of being "a 10000-Buddha Tower".
Dazhao Temple: Built in 1580 and expanded in the early years of the Qing Dynasty, the temple consists of a number of halls and a nine-room building; it contains many precious relics, including silver Buddhist statues and lions cast in iron.
Day 07 Hohhot - Datong (Breakfast + Lunch)
Take soft seat train to Datong which takes 4 hours. Visit the Huayan Monasteryand the Nine Dragon Screen.

Huayan Monastery: The Monastery is located in the southwestern part of Datong. These splendid ancient buildings were constructed buildings were constructed of wood during the Liao Dynast more than nine hundred years ago.
Nine Dragon Screen: This glazed-brick structure has nine dragons sculptured in relief in five colors, the screen is 45.5 meters long, 8 meters high, and 2 meters thick. It was built more than six hundred years ago.
Day 08 Datong - Beijing (Breakfast + Lunch)
Visit the Yungang Grottoes and Shanhua Monastery. Take the overnight soft berth train to Beijing which takes 6.5 hours.

Yungang Grottoes: China's largest grottoes and world-famous treasure-house of arts and culture with 53 caves, with 51,000 carved statues and bas-reliefs.
Shanhua Monastery: First built in A.D. 713-741 during the Tang Dynasty. The entire monastery is a well-proportioned, well-preserved complex. It contains more than thirty Buddhist statues sculptured during the Liao and Kin dynasties, the most noteworthy being covered in gold leaf.
Day 09 Departure (Breakfast)
Arrive Beijing train station in the morning, our guide will meet you at the station. City tour. Transfer to the airport for your departure, end of service.

4. Quotation Inclusions For The Above Tour:

1. Hotel accommodation
The hotel is based on two persons sharing one twin or double standard room with private facilities.
2. Meals
Daily American or Chinese breakfast at the hotel, Chinese lunch and dinner in local Chinese restaurant as specified in the itinerary.
3. Private Transport
Private transport between airport or railway station and hotel and all the sights by air-conditioned vehicle.
4. Transportation between Cities
The economic class air tickets of the domestic flight or soft berth/seat train tickets between cities as specified in the itinerary.
5. Entrance tickets
The main entrance tickets for the sights mentioned.
6. Guiding service
All normal sightseeing tours in each city with English-speaking guide and admission fees where applicable. Our guide will not fly with you from one city to another. Upon your arrival at each city, a new local guide and driver will pick you up, be with you for local tour and see you off after you finish the itinerary of each city. The cruise shore excursion is in-group assigned by the cruise company.
7. Insurance
China Life Tourist Accident/Casualty Insurance. We highly recommend that you purchase full coverage travel insurance from you country of origin.
8. Tibet Travel Permit application fee
The Tibet Travel Permit application fee if your tour covers Tibet.

 

5. Quotation Exclusions For The Above Tour:

1. Visa Fees
Charge of obtaining your visa to enter China.
2. Charge of arrival and departure
The international or domestic air / train charge of arrival and departure.
3. Single Room Supplement
Should a twin room is needed by a single guest, supplement of the twin room will be charged.
What is single supplement?
The hotel is based on double occupancy. If the visitor travels alone or the number of the travelers is odd (such as 3,5, 7...), who stays in one single room has to pay the single room supplement. As the hotel is on double occupancy.
4. Personal Expenses
Expenses of a personal nature such as laundry, drinks, fax, telephone call, optional activities or sightseeing, overweight baggage charges or meals not indicated, ect.
5. Optional Programs
Optional programs which are not specified in the above itinerary.
6. Tips to guides and drivers
Suggested tips: USD10-14 to tour guide per day, USD 8-10 to driver per day, but depending on their service, it's up to you, entirely voluntary.
