Tiananmen
Square: Tiananmen
was the front gate of Forbidden City
- the imperial palace during the Ming
and Qing dynasties. Measuring 880 meters
in length and 500 meters in width, Tian'anmen
Square is located in the center of Beijing;
military parade takes place here on
China's National Day.
Forbidden
City: The
Forbidden City China is a symbol of
oriental culture, Established on the
basis of the Imperial PaLace of the
Ming and Qing dynasties. One cannot
be counted as having visited China if
he or she has never visited the Forbidden
City of China.
Summer
Palace: The largest and most famous imperial garden in China which is located in the northwestern outskirts of Beijing. The Summer Palace was first built in 1750 as a summer resort for the emperors in the Qing Dynasty. It was built in order to celebrated Emperor Qianlong's mother's 60th birthday, and survived from several major damages a couple of times in late Qing Dynasty. The most attractive sight in Summer Palace is the Kunming lake. You can take a boat to cruise it in the summer and enjoy skiing on the frozen lake in the winter.

Duck Dinner: Beijing
Roasted Duck is renowned as the most
delicious food of Beijing. The duck
is hung in the oven and roasted by flame
burning from fruit-wood. The finished
duck is characteristic with crispy skin,
tender meat and the fragrance from the
fruit-wood.
Peking
Opera: Beijing
Opera is deemed the national opera of
China. The accompanying music, singing
and costumes are full of Chinese cultural

Take an excursion
to the Great Wall and the Ming Tombs.
Great
Wall Of China: One
of the seven wonders in the world and
the symble of China. The Great Wall
extends to more than 5,000 kilometers.
Ming
Tombs: The Ming Tombs lie in a broad valley to the south of Tianshou Mountain in Changping County, about 50 kilometers northwest of Beijing proper. They are known as the 13 Ming tombs, as 13 out of the 16 Ming emperors were buried there. Construction of the tombs started in 1409 and ended with the fall of the Ming Dynasty in 1644. In over 200 years, tombs were built over an area of 40 square kilometers, which is surrounded by walls totaling 40 kilometers. The Ming Tombs are characterized by its large size, complete system, and intact preservation. |

Temple
of Heaven: Situadet
in the South-Eastern part of Beijing,
the Temple of Heaven is the largest
still existing sacrificial temple in
China. It was used as the site for imperial
sacrifices during the Ming and Qing
dynasties. It was here that the emperor
conducted the elaborate and most exalted
sacrifices addressed to "the Supreme
Ruler of the Universe" to ask for the
heavens blessings and good harvest.

that was originated in the Tang dynasty
of Chinese history over a thousand years

Visit the Terra
Cotta Warriors Museum, the Big Wild
Goose Pagoda and
Ancient
City Wall.
Terra
Cotta Warriors Museum: Qin
Shi Huang Mausoleum, with its 40 meters
high tumulus, was built in the third
century B.C. for Qin Shi Huang, the
first emperor of the Qin Dynasty (221-206
B.C.). In 1974 a huge pit with numerous
Qin pottery figures was discovered to
the east of the mausoleum. The unearthed
clay warriors and horses are huge and
life-like and provide valuable data
for the study of the military weaponry
and sculpture of the time. The excavation
of this incredibly rich find is a continuing
process and visitors can actually see
the archaeologists at work revealing
more and more of these remarkable statues.
Nothing comparable to it has ever been
uncovered in China before.
Big
Wild Goose Pagoda: This
pagoda is on the grounds of the DaCiEn
Temple. It was built in 652 A.D. Xuan
Zhuang, the famous master monk of the
Tang Dynasty, here translated Buddhist
texts that he had brought back from
India. The pagoda, as it stands today
has seven stones and is 64 meters high.
Spiraling staircases lead to the top
where one is rewarded with a good view
of Xi'an and the surrounding area.
Ancient
City Wall: The wall was erected in the 14th century Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), it encircles and protects the ancient part of Xian City. A wide and deep moat ran around the 13-kilometer walls. Visitors could rent a bike and go all around the city wall; it is a fun and peaceful way to experience the city. |

Xi'an

Visit the Shaanxi
Provincial History Museum and the Great
Mosque. Transfer to the airport for
flight to Guilin.
Shaanxi
Provincial History Museum: The
museum, with a floor space of over 4,000
square meters, was opened in 1952. There
are more than two thousand ancient artifacts
on display. They are divided into three
sections: Forest of Steles (the oldest
and richest collection of such stone
tablets in China), Gallery of Stone
Sculpture, and Historical Relics.
Great
Mosque: Built
in 742 A.D., the mosque was restored
in each of the Yuan (1271 - 1368), Ming
and Qing Dynasties. The distribution
of pavilions, halls, towers and platforms
in the mosque is compact and exquisite,
blending the traditional architectural
styles of Islam and Han. |

Guilin - Li
River Cruise - Yangshuo (Breakfast
+ Lunch)
Our tour guide
will meet you in your hotel lobby
in the morning, then take our private
car / van to the Zhujiang Pier where
the Li River cruise starts (50 minutes'
driving), board the cruise boat (large,
air-conditioned ship). Usually the
boats set off at 09:00-09:30. Lunch
will be served onboard. The boat trip
takes 4 hours. After arriving at the
Yangshuo Pier, you can have a stroll
over the busy West Street that lined
with restaurants, shops and caf¨¦s.
Transfer to your hotel in Yangshuo.
There are optional tours available
in Yangshuo: taking bamboo raft on
Yulong River and seeing cormerants
catching fish; biking to the countryside
and visiting a local farmer's family;
visiting the Silver Cave...
Li
River: Also called Lijiang River,
it flows 83 kilometers from Guilin
to Yangshuo, winding between green
karst hills and lush green fields.
Cruising down the river, you will
encounter poetic rural landscapes
with rolling mountains, steep cliffs,
fishing boats, wild birds, water buffalos,
quiet villages, graceful bamboo groves,
and breathtaking views of fantastic
peaks.

Drive back to
Guilin. Visit the Elephant Trunk Hill and the Reed Flute Cave. Have a pleasant stroll around the picturesque Fir Lake, the Banyan Lake and the Southern Ancient Gate.
Transfer to the airport for flight to
Nanjing.
Reed
Flute Cave: A fascinating limestone cave famed for the odd-shaped Karst formations. The length of the tour is about 550 meters offering a magic land of stalagmites, stalactites, stone curtains and stone pillars in fantastic shapes and colors. It has been one of Guilin's interesting attractions for over 1,200 years.
Elephant
Trunk Hill: The hill is located on the western bank of Li River. The shape of this famous rock formation is just like a huge elephant drinking water from the river with its trunk, hence the name. On the top of the hill there is a Puxian Pagoda which was built in the Ming dynasty (1368-1644), the pagoda looks like the handle of a sword. |

Yangtze
River Bridge: An
important symbol of Chinese self-reliance
and until the late 1970s, the story
of its construction was often told in
primary school textbooks.
Dr.
Sun Yatsen's Mausoleum: Sun
has been respected as Father of Modern
China since he fought unyieldingly against
the corrupt Qing government (1616-1911)
and led the 1911 revolution to end feudal
system and found Republic of China (1912-1949),
leading Chinese people into a new era.
Nanjing Museum: The
museum has a collection of more than
420 thousand pieces, including about
2,000 rare and valued ones. |

Suzhou

Visit the Liuyuan
Garden and Pan Gate. Enjoy a cruise
on the Grand Canal. Later visit a silk
factory.
Liuyuan
Garden: The
garden covers an area of 23,310 square
meters; it is celebrated for its artistic
way of dealing with the spaces between
various kinds of architectural form.
Buildings make up one third of the total
area of the garden, the hall of which
being the most remarkable in Suzhou.
In 1997, the garden was recorded by
UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. |

Suzhou
- Tongli - Shanghai (Breakfast

Tour to to Tongli
Water Town.
In 2004, Tongli was listed in the tentative
list for UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
After lunch, take high speed train to
Shanghai.
Tongli:
A town in Wujiang
county, on the outskirts of Suzhou.
It is known for a system of canals reminiscent
of Venice, Italy. Tongli is 40 minutes
away from Suzhou city. The city retains
many of the features of an ancient Chinese
town. One can enjoy a lovely dinner
sitting by the canal watching a boat
pass by while the small restaurant cooks
some nice Suzhou food. Tongli is peaceful,
serene, calm and quiet. |

Shanghai

Visit the Shanghai
Museum, the Yuyuan Garden, Shanghai
Old Street and former French Concession.
Have a stroll over the Bund. Optional
program in the evening: the Portman

Shanghai
Museum: The
museum is a treasure house of Chinese
cultural essence with a rich collection
of 120,000 valuable antique items. Shanghai
Museum is especially famous for its
treasures of bronzes (bells, knives,
chariot ornaments), ancient coins, ceramics,
Chinese calligraphy and traditional
paintings.
Yuyuan
Garden: As
the most famous classical garden in
Shanghai, Yuyuan is located to the northeast
of the old town, not far from The Bund.
It was built from 1559 to 1577 during
the Ming Dynasty. Each pavilion, hall,
stone and stream in the garden is expressing
the quintessence of South China landscape
design from Ming and Qing Dynasty.
Former
French Concession: It
is once designated for the French from
1849 to 1946, consisting of today's
Luwan and Xuhui Districts. Interesting
architecture built with French and Belgian
venture investments and showing mixed
Chinese-European styles. Today, the
area is characterized by quiet, tree-lined
avenues, French-style villas, interesting
boutiques, lively bars and quaint cafes
that are not typical of China.
The
Bund: As the
architectural symbol of Shanghai, the
Bund is on the west bank of Huangpu
River and winds one kilometer. The name
"the Bund" is derived from an Anglo-Indian
term meaning literally "muddy embankment".
To the west of the Bund, there are 52
magnificent buildings standing in different
styles: Rome, Baroque, Gothic, Renaissance,
Classic and the combination of Eastern
and Western style, most of them were
erected before 1937. |
